We all waited for the international break to be over for domestic football to return and what a return it was.
Here, I’d discuss the stats derived from matchweek 9 from the English Premier League.
- LEADING THE TEAM
Tammy Abraham has been on fire since last season. He has scored 23 goals in all competitions, 11 more than any other Chelsea player. What a player!
- WELBECK & ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa is turning to Welbeck favourite team. He has now scored five Premier League goals against them, more than any other side, with four coming away from home.
Giovani Lo Celso scored 35 seconds after being substituted in against Manchester City. It’s the quickest Premier League goal by a substitute since Bernardo Silva netted within 17 seconds against Brighton.
- SPOT KICK!
Since the beginning of the previous campaign, 16 percent of Manchester United’s Premier League goals have been from the spotkick(13/79).
- BAD LUCK!
Fulham have missed five of their last eight PL penalties, including the last three which all were taken by different players.
West Ham forward, Sebastien Haller scored from outside the penalty area for the very first time in his top-flight league career, in his 190th top-flight appearance in the Eredivisie, Bundesliga and Premier League combined.
- RAINING SHOTS!
Leeds United had a total of 25 shots against Arsenal, the third-highest total for a team in a PL match this season. Man United had 28 against Newcastle United and Leeds had 27 at Villa Park.
After defeating Leicester City, Liverpool are now unbeaten in their last 64 top-flight home matches (W53 D11), the longest run in the club’s history.
